*these products were sent to me for review*
Woohoo! Half way through the week people! The end is in sight! I have a new to me brand to share with you today called….
Winkel is a UK based brand and they kindly sent me 4 of their core colours for review. Not only are Winkel polishes 5 free but they are cruelty free too.
I will admit, when I saw that they were 5ml bottles I did worry that the brush was going to be really difficult to work with but I am pleased to report that although they are slightly smaller than your average brush, they are really good quality and I found it really easy to get round the cuticle line and they also held a lot of polish too so no dragging or patchiness.
A note about the formula. It’s not often that you get a set of polishes that all have the same formula but these do. They were all two coaters (expect one which you could get away with one coat), the viscosity was spot on and they all levelled out really well too. They were also pretty darn shiny!
All swatches were taken without topcoat.
First we have
Red Panther is a dark raspberry-leaning red crème polish and depending on the light it can either looks more pink or more red. This one is pretty pigmented but I did two coats as you could still see a little bit of nail line after the first coat. Love this one!!
Ahhh, I do love a grey polish. 2 coats again for this one but I did think this might need 3 as the first coat looked a little thin but the 2nd coat sorted it out. Grey had a slight blue undertone to it which I like.
Now we have…
Is this purple? I’d say it’s more of dark magenta. Maybe… Either way this one is a one coater and applied beautifully.
‘Who IS Neil?’…. ‘And why is he nude?’ ‘Does Neil want to be nude?’ So many unanswered questions… I do hope Neil isn’t out in public…
This camel coloured crème was lovely to apply with a great formula. Probably not the most flattering colour for my skin tone and my camera really didn’t like photographing it hence the zombie hands but I still like it.
Overall I have been impressed with the quality of the formula of these. The bottle size is probably a little smaller than I’m used to but the decent brush makes up for that.
Each bottle retails for £5.99 each for 5ml and you can pick them up directly from Winkel. At the moment they only ship within the UK (sorry non-UK people) and if you order 2 or more items your postage is free.
That’s all for today – see you soon!
