I have always loved the look of a gradient manicure but I always struggled to get it to be ‘gradient’ enough haha! That was until I found this excellent tutorial by Sammy over at The Nailasaurus. If you’ve never had a look at The Nailasaurus I strongly suggest that you do! She does some amazing nail art and as she’s from the UK, a lot of the polishes she uses are readily available in Boots and Superdrug 🙂 Yay! So, this is my first (successful?) attempt at a gradient!
Blue to Green Gradient
- SH – Nailgrowth Miracle
- H&M – Bella’s Choice (base colour 2 coats)
- Miss Sporty – Clubbing Colours “Blue Bath” (sponging colour)
- Seche Vite
I used a (new!) kitchen sponge and cut 2 small pieces off and used one to do my left hand and one for the right. You might be able to just use one but I found that after a while the polishes started to merge on the sponge and lost the gradient effect. But a fresh piece of sponge sorted that out! I love the effect of this but I think next time I’ll use colours that are lighter and darker which will hopefully show off the gradient a bit more and I may even add some stamping to it.
That’s it for today!
